don't try to do this with your actors!
okay, this is another of the most hellish days. we ran all over the city again chasing the sun from the time it came up on the east side and over to the west side at magic hour and then to times square for scenes with kris and her dealer (sean rector) at night. it was very very very cold and kris had holes in her jeans and she wasn't very happy with me when she got frost bite on her knees... good job no one was sag or i'd be ruined before i even became somebody! and look at this schedule, would ya?! 19 hours were SCHEDULED! and you know movies always move along according to schedule. this was a director gone mad! where was my assistant director?!! oops, didn't have one that day. this is also the day i shot kris from the back of a moving van as she walked up the median strip on west side highway in nyc during rush hour. many people think it was a nice touch when she looked back over her shoulder in that scene. little do they know that she was looking back to check that her crazy director was not going to get her RUN OVER! lots of stuff shot (in video) on this day didn't get used. i used the video camera because it was a cheapo way to make effects - and then i transfered it to film in the lowest tech possible way (well , it was the cheapest) - kine transfer.
