About Us

electricalsoil is an artist-owned web design company and a division of our startup, planetarily responsive, two-person conglomerate, insite, www.insitement.com based in New York City.

We specialize in sites for bands, musicians, dancers, visual artists and actors, as well as sites for for independent artisans and businesses.  You can see our work on the Sample Sites page.

e-soil's Artistic Director and President is DeSales - she is an award-winning filmmaker/ web content monger/ cinematographer/ photographer.  DeSales has been videoing and photographing artists/bands for over 10 years and designing sites for seven.  She has shot several 16mm films, shot 2nd camera for her award-winning short film, kalin's prayer, videoed many a dance, including the magnificent Their Speech is Silver, Their Silence is Gold, by choreographer Nathan Trice, and videoed and co-directed, Making of an Artist...about the wonderful art/dance of the world's most famous female tap-dancer, Roxane Butterfly.

Our Head Developer is Danielle, a web buildin' aussie cellist/graphic designer/activist. Danielle has been a visual artist since she was a kid and been playing in bands and orchestras for just as long. She taught herself how to build and design web sites.

As artists and frequent web-users, we appreciate a funky-lookin' website that's also easy to navigate - with all the info we want, when we want it, where we want it (wow, that's very American...). We also know that web designers/builders charge an arm and a leg, and so, we put our heads together and learned how to build our own site - for cheap.

One other benefit of using electricalsoil is that our film production company, insite films, is currently casting musicians and actors for an upcoming feature, RoCk tHe PlaNet, and we may be interested in auditioning you.

Please note that we will not be involved in any way with sites that are sexist, racist or homophobic.
